Goals and a Giveaway!

I'm currently using this Turbo Jam for DVD set for my workouts and I LOVE it.  I find myself wanting to do more than 1 workout each day, and so I do sometimes!  I've had exercise DVDs that make me sore and work hard, but I never LOVED them...until NOW!  Chalene Johnson, the instructor, is fun and doesn't annoy me either.  There's dancing and kick box type of moves, some yoga, and other styles all mixed in.  I've never sweat as much to a workout as I have to her Cardio Party and yet I have fun at it too!

I want to give one of you lucky readers this Turbo Jam DVD set too!

My goal is to finally lose the extra 30+lbs I've been carrying since my last pregnancy 15 months ago!  I would like to weigh 134lb, but I'm not set on the number because what I want is fitness, strength, and a six pack!  I've never had that before, so I don't exactly how much my body will weigh with all those muscles, etc.  So the number isn't the important part, but the fitness level is.

We can't afford a gym membership, so I'm using workout DVDs at home (I'd go running if it wasn't winter), and free weights that I purchased from Play it Again Sports.  I'm also Eating Clean, giving myself Sundays to have off from exercise and a goody.

The most important things that I'm doing is lifting weights to increase my lean body mass, which will increase my metabolism, and eating clean, and doing HIIT cardio, as well as getting enough sleep at night.

I started this on December 16th because I didn't want to wait until the New Year to start my goal.  I'm planning to reach my goal by March 10th (yep, my bro-in-laws wedding in AZ).  This is a great date, since the ones I've always set for myself, I postpone by myself as well.  This date won't be postponed by me, so it is set.

Would you like to join me in getting fit?

If so, leave me your fitness goals in the comment section along with your email address and you'll be entered to win a set of Turbo Jam DVDs for yourself to give your goals a boost!

Giveaway will be closed on New Year's day, 1/1/2011 and I'll announce the winner that evening!

I'm excited!  This is the first time I've ever done a giveaway before.

PS.  If any of you are interested in Eating Clean, I recommend getting the magazine too.  I love their recipes that I've tried so far and their ready grocery lists.  And TODAY there is an amazing deal I saw on slickdeals to get a year subscription for only $5.99!!!  That's the normal price of one magazine!!  Go here:

Discount Mags has Clean Eating Magazine Subscription for $5.99 per year when you enter code 8127 at checkout. You may purchase up to 2 years at this per-year price.

PPS.  I'm already planning on getting Turbo Fire when I get the money saved up because I love these kind of workouts so much!

  1. That's so funny that you posted this today because this is the first day I've exercised in like...well, never mind how long it's been. :) I used one of my Christmas gift cards to buy a pair of exercise pants yesterday in the hope it would motivate me--so far so good. I'm in the same boat as you--a gym membership is too expensive, so I'm left to my home library of workout DVDs (and by DVDs I mean video tapes). All of them are from the 90s and are cheaply made, but they aren't bad workouts, and I still remember all the steps, so I'm excited to get going. I haven't committed to anything as far as my diet goes--maybe cutting out the 3-4 Christmas sugar cookies I've been eating every day would be a good start. Good luck! 2. Ooo, I always love a good exercise video! I've been trying to get back into my at-home work-out routine this month, too. My goal is to keep up with an every other day work out, toning and strength training and increasing flexibility and a little more muscle mass. I'm trying to increase fruits/veggies/lean protein in my diet as well. Good luck on your goals, too, Jennie!!
