I started Rae out with the chair trick.
She forgot her gloves so she had to borrow mine.
She looks hilarious with my gloves on.
And I don't think I've mentioned this before, but I live on an island.
This is what the water looks like now during the winter (pic below)
(this is NOT where we went ice skating.)
We often see LARGE ships come up and down the river.
They're so big, that it's mesmerizing to watch them.
And that's Canada on the other side of the water. Crazy huh?
Another great part about living on the island, is that I can pick up the French station from Canada! I love listening to them speak in French and listening to the different songs and understanding a few words here and there. Although technically, the portion of Canada right across from our island speaks English.

I IMMEDIATELY laughed out loud once I saw your gloves on Rae. She looked like she had gnarly, deformed alien fingers. LOL. Judging by the videos, it looks like she really took to it! And you too! I cannot skate backwards and would love to! Go ice skating with your girls as often as you can. Even an afternoon date with Trevor would be fun! Now I'd like to see a video of that. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool that its like organice ice skating or something.:) And seeing those pictures totally makes me think you are living the life of Anne of Green Gables on Prince Edward Island. I love in her books how it talks about the seasons and the different moods of the seas and how they had to wait for Spring--but man it looks cold too! Anyway, maybe you'll train some future stars out there on that ice!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your girls are exploring a new skill. I didn't know you couldn't skate backwards...lol How silly, when I was a kid it was common thing to go ice skating. David too said, he got really good at it, but for the life of us...we just couldn't get Ethan on ice. I think he was afraid some girl might see him fall and get all embarrassed....Good luck with the girls and I hope they learn to love it too!
ReplyDeleteWait - an island? Near Canada? email me where you live - I seem to have forgotten but it sounds awesome! And I'm near Canada too - maybe we are closer than we realize....(relatively, of course)
ReplyDeleteI'm surprise how well Rae took to ice skating on her first try....scissor steps...lol
